Damn 18 year old car! So I finally got my baby in the shop today, started working on taking out the axles so I can get the engine swapped when I ran into a problem... the right side caliper came off with no problems... but the left, well, it pivots on that rod, but no matter what you do to it, no matter how hard you hit it, how much you grease it up, how much you twist it back and forth, it just wont budge. I even tried using a hammer and a flathead and still nothing :( I need it to slide off badly so I can put a torch to the last 2 bolts holding the rest of the caliper on so I can get my damn rotor off.... any ideas?? thanks.

You could always use a drill... if the caliper is stuck on though, plan on replacing it... I would never recommend reusing a caliper that has had ANY issues w/o at least rebuilding it. It's not just your life you're messing with...
You don't really have to take the caliper off in most cases to get to the caliper bracket bolts... some creativity helps... but if you can't get it off, and you REALLY REALLY have to... and you're gonna replace it anyway, take an oxy/ace torch, and a small head, and run it along the spot where the pivot bolt goes through... then chisel the shit out of it.
