Hello,
have a 2001 silhouette with ABS light on. Is there a self-test that i can do, to determine which sensor/component has gone bad? What wire if any needs to be grounded to have the lamp flash the codes (ex. nissan OBDII connector pin #9). And how to interpret the results.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Welcome to AF. You cannot access abs codes without using an abs function scanner. You could do a resistance test on each sensor at the wheel connector, 1020-1180 for the ft, 1030-1140 for the rear, also check for corroded connections along the harness. This still may not reveal the problem

Same thing happened to my wife's Silhouette. My brother in law, a GM mechanic attached a laptop to the car and found a loose wire connector under the driver's seat. It probably became loose from a water bottle or something rolling around under the seat. Every time the light comes on, I jiggle the conector, re-start the car and the light is out.
