Got back a few hours ago from 4 days in Moab. More photos to come. In the meantime, here's a shot of Secret Spire. We'll put the rock back next year. Promise! :D

You know, that's just one of those things I would not feel good about standing under no matter how long it has been there like that!
Cool picture though. Hurry up and get some more uploaded! :D

Schlud, did you edit that picture, or has that center piece really moved a foot in 2 years ?

Yeah, I edited it. I figured enough people had seen your pic they would get the joke (put the rock back next year). I probably should have moved it another 4 feet. :D
BTW, did you really drive out there? I wanted to do the same pic, but the parking lot is rocked off, and there was only a hiking trail to it.

Even in it's un photochopped state I still would feel funny standing under there!
Can't believe I fell for that!!! Probably because my Photoshop skills suck ass and I could never pull that off!

So how did you pull it off anyway? Put the camera on a tripod and take a shot without you there, then another with you there, and cut-n-paste the two into the end result?
The alternative would be to just have the one pic of you there and then start shifting things around, but that would be a pain in the butt and very very hard to make it look correct with the background etc.

Nah. It's easy. Separate out the rock section and myself that I want to move with a quick mask. Copy and paste me into a new layer. Clone some of the background on the bottom plate to create the air space. A little hand painting to make a ledge for the bottom rock and "Shazam!" you're done. Takes a few minutes. :D

We did drive out. I think Coyle and Slimey did too. I don't recall the hiking sign or any rocked off areas back then.
Nice Photoshop edit. My eyes must be getting old, Rhombus fooled me this week too :)
