When I turn my steering wheel it make a clicky sound and it seems to catch a bit. This also causes my air bag light to come on. I'm worried about my air bag going off while driving and / or not being able to complete a turn if the wheel get stuck.
Any idea what the problem might be and approximate cost to repair?
Any help is appreciated.

Do you mean there is a clicky sound while the car is going around a corner? That usually means you have a worn constant velocity U-joint on a front wheel drive car. If that is the situation I cant imagine it would cause an air bag to deploy - but my cars are all old enough not to have airbags. The clicking of a worn CV-joint will get worse, and can eventually cause the hub to lockup (usually in a tight turn at low speed.) If it begins making the clicking sound when you are going almost in a straight line - it means its really time to replace the axle shaft assembly and CV joint.
