On the 97 Astro, Is it possible to access the cap and coil by removing the interior engine compartment cover? It is very wet and I want to hit these things with some wire dryer to see if I can get it running ,,,,
I also read here some people have given a shot of starting fluid. Where do you give it the shot?
I know nothing about the astro van other than I think it's a pile of junk. I have replaced many things on it, AC unit, brakes, fuel pump, Power steering unit, plugs, cap, rotor ,,,,,

The engine cover must be removed for access to the distributor and coil. Be sure to dry the inside of the cap too.
Starting fluid can cause serious damage to the engine. You're better off using carb cleaner. Open the air filter housing and direct a short spray into the inlet tube.
