Hey guys I just recently purchased a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with 33,000 miles for $8k. It is in great shape but there are a few minor things...

1.)When you are stoped and you turn the wheel all the way either left or right, there is a kind of squeling or speaking noise, but when you are moving, it doesnt happen. Is this something I should be worried about?

2.)Also, I bought the truck out of state and it has a rebuilders title on it, do I need to get it inspected before I can get the tag and stuff?

3.)It doesn't have power locks, can i get them installed and how much would it cost?

4.) When the truck is idling, it isn't completely smooth. (not bad, but smooth) Should I be worried about this and what rpm should it idle at?

Thanks-

Power steering squeeling isn't necessarily a problem when you are at the steering stops. However your truck has a common problem of the return hose on the power steering leaking at the hose clamp where it connects to the steering rack. Most people just put a regular screw type hose clamp next to the factory clamp. Check your fluid and your clamp.
FYI, another common problem is the doors hit the door seal next to the mirrors and tear the seal. These pop right off and take about 2 minutes to replace. The new ones were redesigned with a cutout in them for more clearance. The TSB says 2004s and 2005s, but my 03 had the same problem. Click on the link.

i also have an 03 ram

1) most vehicles do make some sound when the wheels are locked in one direction, i don't think its anything to worrk about but check your power steering fluid just in case

2)i don't have a clue about the title, ahha

3)yes you can get power lock installed, i have a mustang i got done for about $220, its probabaly about the same for the truck i'd think, its definitely worth it, go ahead and get keyless entry while you're at it, definitely worth it.

4)i also have idleing problems, i boutght the truck in summer of 04 and its always had a bad idle, it has cut off many times, it seems like after i pull up on a hill and stop it willl cut off. nothing really to worry about i don't guess, usually when it drops o about 400 rpm i just tap the gas real quick and it sets back to normal.
