93 PU 2WD-Emmissions Label

Got me a 93 Toyota hardbody, 2WD a few weeks ago. Got 174K miles and still runs pretty much like new. Duhh! Im a long time, loyal Toyota lover. Can't beat 'em. Like all the used cars I've ever bought, one of the first things I bought to go with it was a trusty Hanes manual. Also like all my used car purchases, first thing's a tune up. A couple things I needed were plug gap, timing and idle speed. Unfotunately, Hanes manual doesn't specify. Instead it says to refer to the emmisions information label under the hood. Well, someone decided to paint the underside of the hood. The kid at local autoparts store gave me some info. He said plug gap was .032, sounds right. He also said that my timing was to be set at 5 degrees BTDC for California emmisions and 0 degrees BTDC for Federal emmisions. Not sure about that. Ever since I got it and to this point, still, it's sittin about 12 deg. BTDC. When I try to drop it down to 5 deg., let alone 0, it runs like crap. So I put it back up to 12. I need that emmisions info label.

Could someone please take a good high resolution digital pic of it and send it to me????

It's 93 Toyota 2WD pickup, 22R-E engine.(also in my sig) Either PM it to me or just PM me and I'll give you my email address. Im not sure if the label differs between the California and Federal models but I think mine is Cal. emmisions.....I think. Only reason I think that is cuz I had the CEL comin on and when I pulled the code it was code 21 and right under "Code 21" in parenthesis it said California emmisions only.

I just wanna verify the timing and later, once I get a tach installed, then I can check and adjust the idle speed. It'd also be nice to have all the other info on there and the vaccum hose routing.

I have an ever so slight hesitation when accelerating thru the gears which most of I got rid of with new plugs and fuel filter but theres still a tiny hesitation. I still gotta get new plug wires and air filter. May need to run a little injector cleaner thru it, too. I just need that label for now.

I love my truck. Been a long time since my last Toyota. I almost forgot how nice it was to own one!!!!

Thanx in advance, everybody!!!!!

There's a couple of connectors you have to cross before ckecking the timing.
Have you checked the factory service manuals available at the top of this sub-forum?

Ya, I been looking thru the manual at the top of the Toyota>Pickup forum, also here.........

Can't find the timing or idle speed...o.0

Ummm, as far as the connectors, I'll have to double check my manual, but I do believe I jumpered a couple in the diagnostic plug when I checked the timing. Although, I slao remember jumpering Te and E1(or something close) to pull codes so I might be confusing it with that. I'll double check as soon as I get a chance. Thanx!!!!!!!!!

Still, would love a good clear pic of that label if anyone gets a chance. Thanx!!!!

Ok, sorry to get back so late. I jumped TE1 and E1 and rechecked my timing. Right at 5 degrees BTDC.

I finally got new plug wires and an air filter in it. Hesitation is gone.:iceslolan

Still.......for a truck, it sure seems as though it should have a little more power. Oh well. I just gotta change the oil and filter and check the idle speed when I get my tach. and it will be completely tuned.
