Replacement Headlight bulbs

Can anyone point me in the direction of the best replacement headlight bulbs for a 2002 silverado?? Thanks in advance.

Sylvania Silverstars.

I replaced my lows and highs with these bulbs, and they are much brighter and whiter than stock. Pricey, but worth it IMO.

2nd vote for Silverstars. Absolutely badass bulbs. Once you use 'em you'll never look back.

The only drawback to them, though, is that they don't last very long due to using a thinner filament. I find myself having to buy new bulbs every 2 years or so. Apparently the new Silverstar Ultras eliminate this problem, though, but they are about $5.00 a bulb more.

You can spend $80 xenon bulbs that will last 6 months, or spend $150-$250 on HID's that you will probably never change again and plug in almost as easy as stock ones. Depending on where u live police might bust your chops a little. Or you can spend $20 and get the stock halagen bulbs and they will last u another 5 years... The choice is yours:banghead:

I have a question about this... I would love to mod my headlights to HIDs but I'm worried about the lens geometry not being very good for a completely different type of light.

How do they throw? How is the temperature???? Safe for the plastic lenses? How do they appear to oncoming traffic... too strong? You have any links to some good replacement bulbs and ballasts?

Generally when you get an HID kit it comes with a new headlight assembly I believe.

I had the silverstar's in my truck and one burned out after only having them for 5 months. I heard this is a common prob but loved the amount of light these bulbs put out. Right now I have some extra bulbs my friend had until I either get silverstar's again or upgrade to the HIDs. But, I definitely loved everything about the Silverstar's until they burned out.

Well on my 2002 headlight it lights up the whole lense, except for the highbeam side, Im not sure on a 2004 if the highbeam is a seperate bulb, if its not you probably lose your highbeam, if it is it will work just as it did if you had regular lights in there..As far as the light throw it is more spread out and definitly brighter, the temp on the lense is cool to the touch, cooler than my stock lights..You have to keep in mind that HID's only use 35 watts compared to 55watts stock.. Oncomming traffic... I did have to lower my lights so I didnt blind people from behind, but you may get a few high beamers from the opposite side of the road :evillol: .... If you wanna get crazy you can get projector headlights with HID's, but it will cost you... <---- this is a guy on ebay a couple of my friends got their lights from with no problems... They were selling for $199 three days ago.. I dont know how long the "sale" will last... IMO go with 8000K bright and nice blue look, not to much.. You wouldnt get a new headlight assembly with any HID purchase because it goes by headlight bulb size not what type of truck you have, their is no need for a new assembly anyway...

I vote for Silverstars also. Have the Highs, Lows and Fogs. WAY more light than stock. A friend did the HID conversion thing too. Looked cool too, but personally I didn't think it was worth what he spent vs the Silverstars.

Wow. I had mine on for 2.5-3 years and they were still going strong when I sold her.

only like in a parking lot at full turn. not while driving or any other time.
i am pretty sure they are 305-40-22 i had 305-45-22 and they rubbed some and also hit the inner fender a cut the edges of the tires a little. they make a 305-35-22 too i think which would cut down rubbing more but lose sidewall height.
