Welcome on AF !
Concerning compound, I would advice you to use some of them from less fine (forst apply) to the finest (finishing apply).
But you don't have to inevitably use all of them, I only us fine compound (so don't use ultrafine) and it's Ok for me.
Try to make a search on AF with the key word compound, you may find some good explanations and detailed answers.
concerning the chrome part, could you be more precise ? what's your problem ? parts don't glue, glue dammage the parts...? which glue are you trying to use ?
Phil

Hello to AF. Well, they can`t. You have to remove (carefully) the chrome plating from the areas you want to glue.

Welcome to AF!
As far as wax, most automotive waxes do just fine. I use Simoniz myself. Just make sure it's an actual wax and not a cleaner wax, which won't do a whole lot to the paint.
