2003 Caravan Brake Problem

Last week the van's front wheel locked up on the drivers side after moving it a short distance it released. The van was taken to a Chrysler dealer and they could not find anything wrong. Several days after the brakes again locked up the van was limped to a local garage and the mechanic had to use a crowbar to get the caliper off. The slides were oiled and when he then reinstalled everything. He then tried to bleed the brakes but when he pushed on the pedal the brakes were firm and oil only dripped out. Is there a one-way valve inline causing a restriction or is there a problem with the anti-lock brakes.

What does the mechanic say the problem is? Without knowing, I would say your master cylinder is shot bigtime.

The chrysler dealer says they cannot find anything wrong. The hose was replaced incase it was bad. The problem has happened since the hose replacement. The shop is going to replace the brake caliper but are not sure this is the problem. Are there any valves for the traction control that may be sticking?
