i recently got a 92 town car that had been sitting in storage for almost 5 years. the odometer and trip odometer do not work, as well as the cruise control not working. The speedometer works though. and i wanted to know if these things could be linked and if so what could be done to fix it. The car has a analog dash and i don't know if that would make a difference. and i also wanted to know about the air bag light. the air bag light blinks i think 4 times then pauses and then blinks again but if i drive the car for a while it stops blinking all together, but then it will come on again a few days later if i don't drive it.

Do you have access to a hi-speed download connection? The 1992 Service Manual can be had from fordcds .com which takes you through some very detailed Cluster and Speed Control diagnosis.
Most of these kinds of posts result in cluster replacement, but the diagnosis should be done first, it's cheaper.
Make sure you change your oil and flush the transmission, 5 years sitting takes a toll on these fluids.

yes i have a high speed connection, however the site is currently down so i will try again later. the guy i got it from changed the engine oil and colant, but i haven't had a chance to change the tranny oil, because i am away at college and the car is at home:frown:. i also replaced the spark plugs and wires and put a new fuel filter on and flushed the fuel system with seafoam and it runs great.

Really, yikes... that sites never been down for me.
Try the short URL < here (http://fordcds.com/) > or < this (http://www.fordcds.com/92VEH5_0.iso.zip) > direct link to the download you need.
Also, if you find the download useful, he takes paypal donations too :)

Not much, lots of folks are quoting the 92 manual for you 91 folks. Ford didn't make CD manuals prior to 1992.
BTW, there are also all over eBay...
I have a "System Disc" that goes way back; it covers TSB's etc, and stuff that's common to all Fords. I haven't seen that one available anywhere.
You can get the 91 paperback edition off eBay or full price at Helminc.com ($84) Ebay is hit-n-miss for 1991's...
