Ok i have taken out my starter several times before for one reasn or another and i really never payed much attention to what bolt goes where, well today i had to take it out and i was puting it all back and i couldnt remember if the short bolt goes on top or the bottom:screwy: well for some reason i couldnt get the bolt to work on the bottom short and long so i just put the short one in the top and tighten it down, now is that the right bolt or does the long one go on top im not sure why the bolts wont start to go on the botom yet, but it was late and i wanted to get home so i left it as is at the moment.
and the "why" i have taken my starter out is every now and then i will turn the key and nothing happens i have power but no start NOTHING its like the starter is bad so i go through the motions and take it off clean it up ( its the original) put it all back together and Presto it starts like it did before, not sure WHY it does this but this seems to do the trick. the guy at the parts store thought i was nuts until he saw that she fired up after i put it back in:iceslolan So if i can figure out why it does that and figure out how to get it fixed soo that i Dont have to take the starter out every time it happens( the last time it happened was last june)

If I remember correctly, the top one is the long one and the bottom is the short one. If the holes are not lined up correctly, then neither bolt will go in properly.
