When I adjust the fade to the rear only, I get no sound whatsoever out of the speakers. Anyone else had this problem? Advise? TIA -Don

A few questions...
Is it a factory radio? What year is your TB? How long has this been happening? Did the rear speakers EVER work?
Might help in answering your question.....

It is a 2002 with the stock am/fm cd cassette. I am unsure if the speakers ever worked. Last week we were on a trip and the kids wanted more music in the back than we did up front. when I adjusted the fade to rear only, I lost all sound. I have never attempted to adjust the fade before the trip.

I recently had the sound go out in one of my rear speakers. When I removed the door panel, I found the speaker full of water! The other speaker had some water damage also. I have replaced them with Sony XS-V160HP speakers with plastic cones. The swap was easy without any door mods.

Hope those Sony's are water proof! :grinyes: You might want to fish thin wire or the likes through the belly drains on the doors to make sure they drain properly. You always get a small amount of leakage through the outside window belt.

Great idea! I have a small solder iron I can melt a small hole thru the cone to prevent tearing. Thanks :grinyes:

After reading your post I checked my rear speakers and the drivers side does not work. I removed it and found possible water damage. I checked the wires for signal and it present. I guess it is time for replacement speakers. I beleive 6.5" will work. I can't beleive GM would put such cheap Mexican speakers in a $33000 SUV.
Anyone have any recommendations for a replacement set? From what I have read Polk seems to be the brand I will buy.

According to crutchfield.com they are 6.5s, I was wondering if the speakers were any better quality with the Bose system? I am prolly gonna upgrade mine as well, check those drain holes and water seals while the door panels are off. The Infinity 6.5 should sound awesome with the Bose.

Anyone know where to get the adapters needed for the GM speaker connectors to aftermarket speakers?

I am just going to cut them off and connect new ones for the new speakers. Anyone know which wire is the positive lead?

The speakers are 6 1/2". Crutchfield has a good sellection finder and offers adapter kits when required. I had to cut 2 small plastic pins off the door panel. The wiring diagram can be found here:
