After I had been running my car for a good 15-30 minutes (I think) It wouldnt shift from 3rd to 4th gear. (Automatic Trans) I had been messing around with the OD switch some, but I've convinced myself its not the problem (But I'm no expert) I would like some feedback on this situation, thank you!

Check your tranny fluid levels... The fluid expands after getting hot, so when you check the level of it, the car needs to be warmed up. Such as when this problem starts happening. I would go drive it for 20 minutes and then check the fluid and see if its way past the full mark. If so its a pretty good bet that thats the problem. If not, then I would flush the fluid and put in a new tranny filter. But overfull or underfull is the highest cause for odd shifting problems in automatics.

Thanks for the quick response, I checked it after a good 20 minute drive (Before I had the problem) The dipstick has add, warm, hot.. It seemed to be slightly above the hot marker

I would let out a bit of fluid then to get it to slightly below the hot line if not right on it... If that doesn't work then we shall have to brainstorm some more possibilities. But for now, its the easiest/cheapest thing to give a shot in my opinion.

Could you possibly direct me to a guide that would help me do things like taking out some of the fluid? I've never done much with cars, also would like one for future problems could problem help me in figure out stuff before I bring it to the forum. Ty

Yeah, you can pick up a Haynes or Chiltons manual for it at most auto part stores. I got mine at autozone for like 12 bucks I think? But yeah, it comes in handy a good bit for learning if you don't know much.

Just loosen up a few of the transmission pan bolts and some of the fluid will come out. There aren't any drains for the AT, so that's about the only way to do it. Also have you done fluid/filter change lately? Sometimes that helps with weird shifting problems too.
