Well I started this tonight and I did a mockup right out of the box,

I didn't like how low it sat so I decided to fix that,

Sorry for the crappy pics but let me know what you think, I'm gonna go work on it some more and bring you updates later.

I see you don't like those panel lines on the bed either LOL (The model was original made for the TV show The Fall Guy, he was a stuntman/bounty hunter who hid stuff/people in there).
There are some lift blocks in the kit, but I don't like them either: The stock springs are too 'flat', it looks awkward IMO. Nice job making the new, more arched leaf springs.

if you go with a 350, check out the motor in the revelle '37 convertible with trailer, or the 37 sedan. it has one of the nicest SBC motors and they are quite redily available.
the wheels/tires are just perfect, but there HAS to be something done about the inside of the rim. that is just horrible, and as high as you have the truck, it WILL be seen.

Wild paint,
I dig it.
I agree on the inside of the wheel deal.
I think it would look really good with a set of So Real concepts 44" boggers.

Wow, fantastic detail painting, especially the dashboard.
AMT just re-issued a snap-together version of a '75 Blazer. No engine or anything, and basic interior, but it looks like you could use the Blazer body on the GMC pick-em-up chassis for a cool build too. You could even make it a GMC Jimmy.

Got my computer back at least just for the weekend, but sorry no pics (Not allowed to use camera for some reason :angryfire, should be getting my own soon) but I did finish the paint on the bed
and the interior, I might add more to it soon but I'm going to hold off on much more progress till I get pics.
Lol, I was just looking at my previous pics and then at my desk and I realized.......it's really cluttered

Ok, I have an update, lots of pics. I finished the camo on the bed...I think it needs more what do you think?, Finished the interior, threw in a big block but it was really tall and hit the hood without an air cleaner which is why I'm making the snorkel, and I'm in the process of making a new rollbar for it, and finished the grill.

I was going to ask you that. It kind of looks like the camo fades away toward the rear. I thought it was on purpose cause it looks cool.
What did you ever find out about other tires for your project? I am building a CJ/TJ conversion and cannot find any big tires aside from the Hilux?!

Well if it looks good then I'll leave it and idk about other tires aside from those, I'll probably end up running the tires it came with, I'm not sure yet.

it looks as if two people were in charge of the paint project. one got the cab, the other the bed.
before you go putting all the grill and hardware and trim on, you should clear coat, wetsand to get the paint level, then hit it with a semi gloss, or flat coat so it doesn't look like you used latex roll on paint when done.
the engine you were trying to put in was also in a larger scale. I'm guessing it's the 454 out of the Monogram "heavy chevy" chevelle? if you used the 454 out of the AMT chevelle, you'd be golden.

Yea I've always done clean builds because I have a hard time weathering since my airbrush is not fully functional yet all I have to use is spraypaint and brush paint and last time I tried weathering it didn't work out very well lol
