If you only want to do it once, difinitely go with the OEM pump. I don't recall exact part numbers, but when I did mine, there were two options: one for trucks with the EVAP system, and one for trucks without. I got mine from Oreilleys for around $280 and some change.

I replaced my fuel pump two weeks ago on my 2000 with a 4.8 liter. It's a two-wheel drive with a 5 speed tranny. It also has the evap system. I bought it from the local dealership who wanted $510 for it. I also called NAPA and they wanted $310. I then asked the dealer if they would lower their price and they went down to $358, so I bought it from them. I decided to remove the bed instead of dropping the tank because I dropped the tank on another truck and that was no fun. I had to splice in one new connector that was supplied with the pump along with the necessary crimp connectors. They also included a new fuse to replace an existing fuse in the fuse box under the hood. Not sure why that was necessary because the replacement fuse was the same amp rating as the old fuse. Overall, not too hard of a job if you have a way to remove the bed. I used an engine puller and it worked great. Good luck!
