new 2 this car but loves it

I have 94 acura integra and it runs good but my problem is right now is that the needlw on my temperture gauge in the inside my car is moving from the middle to hot but it plays bac and forth. it started smoking a lil but it stoped i turned the car of and let it cool down and started it up again it didn't smoke but when i got home and turned it off and then try 2 turn it bac on it want 2 start but when i tried again it did. my radiator,pump,timing belt and the motor head is cleaned and new. what is the real problem.

make sure your thermostat isn't fouled up.

what color was the smoke?

I would say that it's a thermostat problem too or it could be your water pump. Where's the smoke coming from?
