I am totally fascinated by your project and I really wished I could help you more. Maybe you check out http://www.cardesignnews.com
and ask some guys in the forum there for the designer of the Evo series. I guess only some pros know. Or even contact Mitsubishi directly.

It would be awesome if you could publish your essay here after you have finished it. I love the cars and I love to see this kind of development or well... evolution.
