:grinyes: I have successfully completed the installation of a Factory CD Changer in my 1997 TC Signature. Listed below is a summary of what was done. I want to give full credit to the following people that assisted me with this installation. "Tman70, redpony, and 18 yrs old". There may have been others but can't remember who they were.
1. First you must have the correct RCU mine is (F6VF-18C851-AC).
2. There must be (4) slots in the RCU for connectors. (1)-6 pin (2)-13 pin
and (1)-14 pin.
3. If all of the slots are fulled, this would indicate that the harness for CD
Changer is present.
4. The second connector from the bottom of the RCU is the one for the CD
Changer, if that slot is (empty) I don't know what you have to do.
5. If the connector for the Changer is present it will be behind the upper
back cushion. Remove both cushions, and there will be a flap on the sound
shield. Under this flap attached to the framing with a nylon plug is the CD
Changer connector(gray).
6. You must have a wiring harness that goes from the CD Changer connector.
(black to black) to the CD Changer connector (gray to gray)
7. Plug the gray end of the harness to the gray end of the connector,
plug the black end of the harness to the black end of the connector on
the CD Changer.
8. Put a CD in the CD Changer mag. put the mag. into the Changer, turn the
key to the ignition to Acc. push the CD button on the radio.
9 If the wiring is correct, and you have a good Changer you should have
music. (I did).
10. P.S. You also have to have the correct radio in the dash. It has to have
the CD button on it to control the CD Changer.
