Unlock Door With Key - Anti-theft Alarm Sounds

Hello All, I have a 97' Villager and do not use the keyless entry fobs to unlock or lock the doors; I have not used the fobs since their batteries ran out. No problems with unlocking and locking the doors with the keys only; that is until now.

Problem: I use to key to unlock driver door and the anti-theft alarm goes on. Will not stop even when I place key into ACC position.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Start using the key fob. The problem is that you proably have a bad connection at the drivors door switch and its causing the alarm to engage when you lock the doors and not disangage when opening. Wait do you have a factory or after market alarm?

Thank you for your response.

I have ordered replacement batteries for my current fobs. Also, I have ordered new fobs; I ordered them from e-bay.

Until both arrive, I have found that I can deacticate the alarm by placing the key into the back hatch and turning the key towards the left (lock) direction.

I will update this post when the key fobs and batteries arrive. I found programming instrutions on the net.
