well i am happy to say i have finally acquired a bmw, 1996 328is. i found it wrecked, but it is now looking like a champ. i need some help though....i finally turned on the car but i get "Input Date" and various other messages in the display under the A/C controls...i managed to snag this pic from another website....how can i edit all of the different options? i am sorry but the car does not have a manual or anything. i even had to change the stereo as it wasn't the original so the code i was provided by the dealer was of no good.

thanks in advance,
manuel

Manuel, your best bet is to go to your dealer and purchase an OWNERS manual. It is inexpensive, and it has all the info you''ll need to operate your on board computer and everything else in your car. Remember, the owners manual is not the same as the service manual. Good luck!

Not sure if will be of any help, but if you go to 'Richard Knott's BMW Database' website, it has some stuff about the OBC on his technical page.

To set the date and time and year, you use the four digit buttons at the left side of the display.

It's just like it sounds. "1000" does the 1000 place, 100 does 100 and so on. Press the buttons until you've dialed in the correct date and press "set/reset". Then you set time and year.

Depending on which display model you have, you can set it to display in various languages and date/time formats. I don't recall offhand how to do that.
