:disappoin My friend has two 97 non-t eclipses one is a five speed well was a 5 speed until we sold the tranny...anyways the other is a auto.We want to put his motor and auto tranny in his eclipse that had the five speed in it.
Would we have to put the harness outta his auto into the five speed body or what or is there anything else we can do??

I apologize if this is referring to an old tread I just really need help.
He is kinda without a car because his automatic eclipse got creamed in the rear while it was parked in my front yard...but thats another story.
Thanks

What the hell is wrong with the car that has the running motor/tranny? The motor swap would be no problem, but the tranny swap is going to be much, much harder than you think. You need to run all the electrical, shifter lines, tranny computer, etc.

The running eclipse is totaled out it got creamed in the rear by a ford f150 while it was sitting in my front yard. The guy who hit his car was on the wrong side of the road hit a Hyndai (sp?) then came off the road and hit my father in laws 06 chevy then my buddies 97 eclipse he didnt stop there he also hit a gas main a building and then down into a gully......so there ya go my friends. We are in between a rock and a hard place.:banghead:

It's not impossible, but it's definitely a journey. But I suppose if you have all the parts right there in a parts car it should go pretty smoothly. You'll have to probably pull the wiring harness to account for the auto tranny, the shifter cables will need to be changed, and various other things like that.
