Finally Boosting Strong!!!

After a long winter including my front mount install and new shocks/springs and a 2" drop, I finally got it all together. For the longest time I had a problem with the bov opening early for some reason causing sputtering at near full boost. Kind of depressing... Then I set aside 4 nights to put the Tokico shocks and springs in because my stock struts were blown as shit.
After I got the car lowered I changed the oil (quaker state 10w-30 full synthetic) and put new plugs in (brp7es's or whatever) Then I went for a drive and to my surprise, it ripped and didnt sputter at all. It hit 14 pounds of boost consistently thorughout all the gears and got up to 110 before I knew it. Im fucking pumped right now because its getting warm outside. High five for summer. Ill try to get pics up as soon as I can.
Thanks a lot for all the help to everyone especially Dave Wagner!

Dave Wagner is black99gst from here.
I dont know why but now my boost is up to like 16 psi. Im gonna try and mess with the boost controller and let it down a little. What is preferred psi on the evo III gt turbo with my limited mods and no fuel upgrades?
Oh yeah, I was on my way home two nights ago and two guys in an 80's Camaro Iroc-z v8 wanted to race me, they had a run and pulled to my left and tried to blow by me but i put it down and eventually started pulling away hard. Haha dusted them

danger danger!
livin on the edge with no fuel mods there bro!
at the very minimum do the fuel pump rewire. and go get a 255 after that. they are not that expensive and you will never need to get another one. the 190 is a waste because the 255 is not much more and the end all be all pumps.
i know there was an airflow chart somewhere around here, maby it's in the FAQ. look around the NEW link in my sig below.
be super carefull in the cold weather. cold = dense and all that, you know. last thing you want to do is blow the motor for no reason.
i would try to keep it down 13-14 psi to be super safe.
the FMIC is a great key here to keep the boost safe. on the SMIC i would warn you over 10 or 11 psi.
better to boost another day, and all.

I run the stock side mount with the 16g at 21psi and don't have any problems until the 3rd back to back pull. But I normally don't make back to back pulls when it's over 80 degrees outside. Just late night when it's safer to tune.

i should have said that daily type [however you would define 'not balls to the wall'] driving you would be ok to go a bit further.
WOT pulls are the danger zone, in the colder air you are going to get much more air, so be carefull at repeated WOT.

do you like the evo 3 turbo, would it be a good investment, many people have recommended that turbo over any others.....

Yes it would. It puts down good numbers, has a quick spool time, and doesn't *need* many mods to make it work other than some fuel and tuning.

Yea I like it. My stock turbo went within the first few months so I decided to upgrade to the Evo III. It screams and pulls all the way through the rpm range, even though it does take a little longer to spool being bigger. But I dont yet have any fuel mods (plan to do soon) and I felt a huge difference in power and sound.

Yeah man i didnt expect the sound to change as much as it did, but it sounds way better now. The time it would take me to wind out second gear with that t25 is about the time it takes me to wind out 3rd. Im glad yall talked me out of the t28 and into the evo3. I would recommend it to anyone, and if your worried about the non direct replacement, then don't because i had the t25 off and the evo3 on in about a day. If i can do it anyone can

Congrats on the running dsm. I know how it feels man haha. Deffinatly take the above advice and get some fuel mods. Last thing you want now is to pull up beside someone making fun of your car, take off, lean out and blow your motor.
