Well, like I said, I will be picking up this a6 motor tomorrow, to start on my project a6 buildup. Here is what I have found so far. Please, add comments, and ideas. I know I will need them.
ENDYN Pistons 75.5mm 9.07-9.45:1 - $485.00 per set, $78 for rings.
Eagle Forged Rods - $349.99
Block- Well, this is where its a little tricky. I was looking into short blocks from JG Engine Dynamics. This is what they have: SOHC resleeved bare blocks. Ductile iron sleeves can accomodate up to a 79mm bore. Blocks include boring, honing, resurface, and Hot tanked. $650.00 exchange. Does that sound reasonable? Or should I look into a local shop for this type of work?
For the head, well, still researching into that.

I have never built a Honda motor from scratch but I can speak from a VW point of view because I have built craploads of those motors. A new Aircooled VW case that would have everything that you have listed would run you about 800 bucks. I would think that this price is reasonable. The question that I would consider is how much is a set of crank bearings for a Honda? For a Bug they are like 20 bucks. How much for an engine seal kit and other various gaskets? I think if I were to build a Honda motor from the bottom up i would defenitly have to think about this stuff. What are your plans for this motor anyway? All motor or forced induction?

if i were you, id go with the short block they sell. $2300 and you get the bottom end and it can handle lots and lots of boost, you would never have to worry about breaking something. and they also sell heads too, you can get the pro series or redline series head.
when i have saved up about $10,000, i am going straight to jg and buying one of there engines. i am gonna call or email and say, i want one of those b18a that can handle over 30 psi, probably one of thsoe turn key packages they sell

Sounds good but JG has been getting some negative feedback recently. I have been hearing about people being ripped off and the product quality has not been good. This is just what I have heard, no personal experience. People have not been happy with their work and the time it takes them to do the work has been very long. I have heard good things about golden eagle sleeves though. They seem to do really good work.:) Just my 2 cents

Well, ideally I would love to go N/A. But it would be damn near impossible to get a N/A a6 into the 13's, let alone the 12's.
I am going to look into a local shop here, to see if they can possibly get my block resleaved, etc.
But, I just recieved a email back from Rob Smith, the guy who helped on that 12 second civic. He said everything was stock, except for Carrillo rods and Ross pistons. Hmm....
