Bomb blasts in Bali

Ok. I'm feeling really sad about what has happened in Bali over the last couple of days. I have friends that have visited there on numerous occasions and was planning on going there myself this year until I decided to do other things. The place is a beautiful island paradise that has now had it's image tarnished by despicable and organised acts of terrorism.

This world does not feel safe any more. If our largest cities and our places of fun and peace are attacked, then there is no where that our lives are not in danger or threat. I can't believe that this is what the world has come to, and that history is being written right before our eyes.

I want to say to any of you who read this that have friends and family or who know people who were in Bali at the time of the attacks, that I feel for you and I hope that justice will be done.

Totally agree with you there....

it was a place I considered visiting...but yeah..not now. I feel for anyone who has friends families caught up in the situation...I know there are quite a few aussies missing currently.

I also think about the poor americans with the sniper shooting. Its so horible to not be able to put gas in your car, walk along to your mail box or wateva, its just so dangerous everywhere these days...I hate it, adn feel sorry for everyone effected!

It's a horrible world we live in. :( Nowhere is safe anymore. It's just horrible. :(

As sad as it is to think of the families who have lost relatives- it should serve as a warning call to us in the South Pacific- don't think you are exempt......

Not meaning ANY offence here, or to sound smug, but its easy to believe the world IS a nice place all over because yes we live in a fantastic country, Ive been involved in the countries most tense and potentially dangerous and anti-constitutional act outside war EVER and let me tell you compared to other things in other countries it was just a normal day, but it was fucking tense ehy, so yes, our country is still nice and soft, but a point Id like to bring up is the amount of bombs that go off elsewhere, the amount of people killed for nothing, hell, even the amount of bomb squads Ive seen running thru foreign cities, and until its on our door-step it can be easier to kind of push it aside. Another thing to remember, this was NOT an attack on Australians, we weren't a target as a nation, it was a pathetic weak fucked up even cry for help and what better way to get international attention then to nail some foreigners hence bringing world wide media coverage to your cause making the TERROR in terrorism more effective, I for one am backing Bush to go nail some arseholes, sure he's a bit gung ho, but who can blame him? Society is being demolished slowly by the very people he's after.
