truthfully the chassis wasnt designed to tack the load of not having a solid roof. making any regular car into a targa would inevitably twist the uni body so bad the car would never drive straight or dog leg like a bastard. if you have noticed at all most cars that come targa or convertable weigh as much or more then thier regular counterparts, well its because they require additional chassis stiffining to make up for lost rigidity. if you plan to never drive your car ....go for it, it looks sick as hell, but if you do i would reconsider.

Only good if you get quite a bit of chassis bracing, I learned this on my CRX

Danm, Thats a sick lookin CRX. What you got under the hood a that? also where'd you get it done? How much? all it needs is a paint job. Great job on it, it looks really clean. Also how much chassis bracing?
Thanx

Well, I don't have the car anymore, but under it was an HF, under the hood it had a short-block d15 from a dx (blew my built up d16), built up head (stainless valves, porting, rebuild and 3 angle grind), JUN flywheel, SI tranny, msd 6A and wires, stillen fpr, custom turbo kit with kkk k26, saab intercooler, dsm BOV, had some suspension work, tokico springs and shocks, suspension techniques f&r sway bars, neuspeed uppers, maybe more. As for chassis work, I never did it, and the car did handle a little worse from the cutting, probably would need a full roll cage, or at least some sort of bracing underneath the car, some sort of sub-connectors or something. As for the car, I sold it for $1k
The hiid is a funy joke, it had smashed my windshield, we painted all over it, it got a ew one shortly after, but here's a pic of the front when I was working on the turbo kit:

Danm, I wish I had logged on to af sooner I would have bought it from u. It sounds like you put out a pretty penny for that car, too bad u only got 1k for it. Wonder what numbers you ran in a quater mile with the crx. what body shop did the actual t-top cut come from? did you have a cover for the targa part? did you put in all your own parts or did you use the neihborhood bodyshop? :smoker:
