Welcome aboard Roger. Sincere apologies for my lack of response to your last email. I will put some stuff together for you this weekend.

Great find on the F1. That is chassis #013, fresh from Japan. Looks wonderful out in the sunlight like that!

Wish we could get hi-res versions of those pictures. :frown:

Yes, in answer to your question, you can.

However ... where are you going to stash your luggage/golf clubs/3rd passenger in a Veyron? The answer ... nowhere! An ill-conceived flagship of a multinational corporation(Volkswagen/Audi/Seat/Skoda/Bentley/Lamborhini/Bugatti, etc.) that talks-the-talk but is impotent at walking-the-walk.

You are paying way over the odds for the lack of use it has had. Not always a good thing though, lack of use can cause more problems than a well used example. Seems the only guy who has used it is the McLaren service man lol.

Yeah, Eriks friend was in Japan and visited Bingo Sports showroom in this post (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=4435681&postcount=237) and reported back that the silver F1 with the red door stripe states #013 on the chassis plate

Peloton25
04-12-2007, 03:11 PM
I am also fairly certain I have a chassis plate photo from this car, but if I do I was asked not to share it unfortunately.

Anyway, I have no doubt even without the photographic proof because my roommate got the number right on chassis #063 which was also there and I had not even told him beforehand.

As for Murray's post, I believe impotent was indeed the word he intended to use. :D

I heard that chassis no. 18 in Singapore costs about SGD 3,500,000 = USD 2,308,877.71. But then again, its basically an LM without the badging.

Where is that place in the UK? Cool that a Ferrari dealership has an F1 for sale!
How long could it still be there?

How far from London??

I allready emailed those guys. I might go over to the UK next week for this single car:-):-P

hurstg01

First off - its DEFINITELY chassis #013 :)

The Bingosport sticker was still on the car (but didnt stay on for long once pointed out), as was the red stripe (surprisingly not painted on, but a red sticker / wrap) on both doors. Both Sales guys were wondering if the red stripe should stay on the car or not, as their MD (If I remember correctly) thought of taking it off. NO I said, keep it on, that's what makes it more rare compared to the 'oh look another silver one'

Sorry guys, we aren't allowed to share the pics and out of respect and courtesy to the great Sales staff Al and I are going to honour that request.

One thing I have never noticed on an F1 before, if you sit in the drivers seat and look to the top of the windscreen, between both rear view mirrors is a flap you can pull down to stop glare, a bit like a wide sun visor but in the same material and colour as the headlining.

I don't have a 'recaro' arse, so I found both the passenger and drivers seat a tad 'close for comfort round the bum', but god were they comfy to lean back on when swinging your legs over to sit behind the wheel!!

Once we found how to open the lower rear deck of the engine cover and found the pull toggle for the front bonnet, my memory card was soon full!!! Cue pics of everything open, everything closed, luggage in, luggage out, front, rear, bottom, wheels etc etc etc

It was a great 1 1/2 hours, and I will treasure that time and experience for a long while to come.

Awesome - I am so glad that both of you got 'the experience', even if it didn't include a ride. Pouring over the details on one of these cars is a wonderful experience.

You'll recall the one in chassis #028 is signed by Michael Andretti, so you have seen it before, but it probably just didn't register. It doesn't show up in many pictures.

They thought me and Al were anoraks for coming 2 1/2 hours to see it; god knows what they'd think if you told them you were coming from Holland!! :)
As for the revival, its not a race car so probably not, you may see it in the paddock but only if its sold by then I'd imagine; We were concerned that we might get there after a long journey only to find it either not there or be allowed to take photos for 5 mins; I think mine and Al's small talk with the sales men surprised them with our knowledge of both F1's and of #013 so we chatted with them for a while and then they left us to it.

I do believe we were VERY fortunate to get the access we got.

Exeter does have an airport, very close to the showroom, but have you seen it!!?? I wouldn't like to fly out of there, let alone fly in a £1.3m supercar!! I bet it was flown to Heathrow from Japan then transported by lorry to Exeter.

On a side note, the salesman said he has a guy, working for the company, whose job is to fly round the world to locate high-end cars. I left my number and contact details just in case he leaves and they are struggling to find a replacement ;)

Carrs have sold an FXX (blue), MC12, multiple Enzos, F40, F50, 288 GTO etc etc.

The top sales guy said he may have a man interested, but he'll have to see. One thing I did find out is that the car didn't come with the non-standard wheels as seen in an earlier post. I did ask if they had the FACOM tool chest that I could photo, but it hadn't arrived yet, nor had the watch (if there was one with this car or the original owner kept it....) nor the golf club bag, but the other F1 luggage was behind the side panels.

I believe the golf bag was actually optional and didn't come with every car.

Don't ask why there were options on a million dollar car. You'd think they'd even throw in the kitchen sink just to make it complete. :D

Erik, You are correct, my mistake. A source close to an F1 has emailed me to verify that it was indeed an option, along with the large 'passenger seat' holdall, whereas the other luggage that fit in the side panels are standard.

did you get a picture of the lever that opened the front bonnet, the one we had a bit of trouble locating?

Yup, you can just see it in the left hand side of this pic - it was a kind of 2 finger pull arrangement
http://img132.imagevenue.com/loc546/th_10635_DSCN2209_122_546lo.JPG (http://img132.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=10635_DSCN2209_122_546lo.JPG)
It was located here
http://img125.imagevenue.com/loc1048/th_10865_DSCN2153_122_1048lo.JPG (http://img125.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=10865_DSCN2153_122_1048lo.JPG)
under the left hand side digital readout, a little set back.

I dont know what this is. I know it is on the opposite side to the bonnet-pull under the right hand side digital readout here

but it looks like some kind of card reader....

If its the shot of the E and L buttons, the E opens the engine compartment lid and the L is for that particular sides' luggage opening

Greg, you really did an excellent job - congratulations. Thank you for sharing!!!

Did anyone spot the bubbling at the rear of the car? The salesman said it was due to the heat of the engine....

Excellent pics gentlemen. I knew if we were patient, they would permit the photos to be published. Thank you very much for sharing these.

That is an interesting problem. I wonder if we have overlooked this issue on other F1s or is this a singular issue with a possible painting issue from a respray?

well today I went to see the only orange Jaguar XJR15 in existence!

nice rteplacemtn and even rarer then the F1.

Also saw Spyker C8 Spyder and C8 Laviolette and a yellow (!) 250 GTO!

sorry for offtopic but ths made my day a bit less disappointing:p

Had the chance to drive an XJ15 in the early 90's.
Great looking car.
Evil handling.
Sounds stunning.
