radiator question

1990 2.2 cav with a radiator leak, it only leaks while running and for 10 minutes after or so. i tore it apart and determined it is the radiator and not hoses/water pump etc. my question is should i pay 98 bucks for the new one or go freeze my arse off pulling one at junkyard for 35 bucks and not know if it is any better than the one i have. i have 2 junkyards one wants 55 for one thats been tested and the other wants 35 but no test and i gotta pull.

also what are the major pro's and cons of new or used radiator?

thanks

naah, i would go for the used one that has been tested, therefore u know that it works. just make sure not a lot of the fins are bent or broken and it still looks good visually. b/c if it looks bad on the outside, its proly pretty bad mechanically also. but then again, im pretty cheap

Just go buy the new one already Ditto................. Pro... pay another 43 bucks that has never had Any antifreeze run through it . Con pay only 55 bucks and get one that has had cooolant cycled thru it for how many years and has unseen wear and tear even tho it tests ok ............for now. lots of work to do so I`d spend the extra 43 bucks and never have to worry about it again .

i'd be worried about wasting my $55 on a radiator that is as bad as the one you already have...get a new one on Ebay or something....

yeah i went and bought one from oriellys before anyone replied to the question, but i must admit it was the biggest piece of shit to install, its like it wasnt even made for my car, i had to cut the plastic mounts and McGyver it in there, still doesnt sit right but its in and it works and its not touching anything. they must make it and say the same one fits into 17 different cars cause it wasnt even the same size.
