Welcome Aboard!

One would have hoped that the mechanic performed some sort of diagnosis before replacing the fuel pump, or even the filter. The lack of adequate diagnosis should have just cost them the labor for the new pump (you shouldn't be expected to pay for that). Since you apparently DID receive new parts, you probably will be paying for those.

As for the "Security" warning light, diagnosis of the PassLock system will require observing the behavior of the light when the ignition is first turned on (without starting the engine). Is the light turning on and remaining on? Does the light turn on for a period of 3-5 seconds then turn off? Does the light flash at all?

If you have a security light on, most of the Malibu's had a problem with the passlock sensor. You have to purchase the whole ignition lock cylinder to get the sensor you need. Not sure how much it costs, but you can replace it. The theft system will need to be programmed after the repair. I'll post the programming procedure. You might also try programming the system before you replace anything else. If it starts after programming, the sensor is most likely to blame. Just replace it and reprogram the system. 10 Minute Learn Procedure (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/#ss3-709686)

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON, vehicle will not start.
Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
Hope this helps.
