Whats wrong now?!!?

Hey all I was driving today and the car started lagging, meaning I couldnt accelerate, felt like it was bogging, and I pulled into a parking lot, and it shut off and when i try to start it again, it turns over but will not fire up. ANy help? This car is being sold Friday and I cant believe it did this!:banghead: :banghead: :shakehead

The obvious suspects are fuel delivery and spark. Check for each of those and your work should be cut in half.

My fuel pump on my 2001 z24 went at 143,000 k. Surprised me...

i'd say fuel pump too..whens the last time you had fuel filter changed?? also like he said do you have park?? got to have spark and gas or no start....

got lots of spark, its the pump, cant hear it when you try and crank it, and if you dump some gas in the carb, it starts and burns off the gas you threw in and quits, and also held the TB open when tried to start, no spray, its the pump.

I've gone through two fuel pumps in my Cav. After the 2nd, the tech asked me if I let the tank run down to Empty often, which I usually did.

The tech told me the fuel pumps are really weak and prone to failure on an empty tank. He told me to use the 1/4 mark as the 'Empty' and I should not have to replace the pump again for many many years.

Its been a couple of years, and so far, what he has said has held up.

Yepp i bought this car used, and was abused....no surprised, mine in my z24 is 10 years orignial .:thumbsup:. Although my engine right now in it, a lifter is going bad and clicks like crazy, so yet anotehr engine has gotta go in, 3rd one......damn Quad 4's....garbage, the 2.2's hold up way better than the quad 4's. My first motor had 185K on it, this one 190k.....and the replacement one from the junkyard has 196K that im getting, since I cant afford anything else....800 bucks for it...hopefully this one lasts.

well did some shopping i got a 2.4 motor froma different scrapyard, with 115,000K's on it, thats a lot better, pretty low mileage :)
