1991 4g63 Engine's the 2.0 Dohc engine thats in your tsi rite now has the same wiring as all 1991-1994 4g63 engines. but 1990 is different as far as wiring and how the ecu works on the instrument cluster ( speedo and tach ).
converting your awd automatic to a 5speed is a easy swap if you have the time and the parts, if your new to dsm's or cars in general i would get some friends to help if you can.

I would hardly say its easy... Most people don't give thought into all the extra stuff you have to run for it. Clutch lines, shifter lines, all the shifter mounts and hardware, pedals, master cylinder, etc... I would just stick to auto or whatever you can... It would be easier to put the motor from the other car into the car with the good tranny.

if he is just having sensor issues with his dsm, then what would be the point to rip out the intire engine when all that is wrong is a sensor issue? if its a 92 its prolly still got a good chance of being a 6bolt engine like my 92. It would be easy for me atleast to swap trannys, i wouldnt rip the whole engine bay apart just to convert it to a 5speed 1g 5speed trannys and parts are a dime a dozen around my way, but if your looking for the parts to do the swap i have all the parts if need.
[Club DSM] Has anybody ever converted an auto tranny [DSM] to a manual tranny [DSM]...

Are you trying to insult my fuckin intelligence here or somethin? YOU do not realize how much work it is to change a car from automatic to manual. If they are both 6 bolt motors though, he could easily pull the motor from this other one and drop it right into his current one and it would be a simple pull and drop in project rather than trying to route and collect all the parts needed to convert it to a manual. Trust me, I'm not a complete fuckin idiot.

I think both of you are on the wrong path. He doesn't want to do ANY motor/tranny transplanting. He's just wondering whether the sensors, alternator, ecu, etc. from the engine of the 91 Talon that's locked up will bolt into his 92 Talon.
Tsiprob92, most of the sensors will "physically" bolt up, but to wiring them up correctly may be a little more difficult. I'm not big on the 1g wiring, but if your 92 has a 6-bolt, then most of it should work fine. Maybe Thor has some better input.
