If I had $25,000...

Hey guys, I just thought of an interesting thread idea. What would you do with $25,000 if you could only spend it on cars or car related things? Heres the rules:

1) You can spend the money on any of the cars that are yours, otherwise you would (obviously) need to buy the car before modding it.

2) You must use realistic prices for parts, cars, and services (i.e. you cant go to your friend and buy DSMlink for $100 or get a top notch paint job for $500, etc)

3) If you dont already have the tools needed to do the job, you would need to buy them, again using realistic prices.

So lets hear it! What you you guys do with $25,000?

(Mine will be up in a few minutes, my battery is at 8% right now)

A somewhat used Evo. That's all.

Or I would finish the talon.
-Built motor ($2000)
-Turbo, FMIC, Piping, Fuel ($1000)
-Tranny work, clutch, LSD, flywheel ($900)
-Some little body work and a paintjob ($3000)

Total: $6900. Rest is money in tha bank.

This could be close to 25K...maybe

2.1 destroked motor
twin disk clutch w/ custom transmission capeable of 200+ mph
wind tunnel testing with custom body parts
custom suspension and 12 piston brakes

oh, like this has never been done before.

I'd buy a twin turbo 4-rotor.

I would take the Firebird, retrofit my own gauge panel in it, cage it, pull the motor, drop in a built turbocharged LS1 with a built t56 tranny, repaint it blue, add some C6 wheels to it and tint the windows...

Then use the leftovers to add a few extras to the already built Talon.

I'd invest it in a high-risk stock and then buy a Saleen S7 in about 10 years.

Realistically, I'd take 5k and finish up the Talon and then buy a used 350z.

EDIT: Actually I changed my mind. I'd take whatever I needed to finish the Talon, and then take the rest and build a 454 and then drop it into the Eclipse, upgrade to the interior of an S2000, and convert to rear-wheel-drive.

I would build mine to be a good all around car. Shit would handle and be pretty fast, but not blindingly fast. I would keep it to a 50 trim just to keep it decent in the corners. After all that if I had money it would get a new purple (yes purple, the stock color it is already) paint job and I would beat on it every weekend. Ha ha, I wish I had that much money....

DSMLink, 1000cc injectors, gt40r, AWD conversion, HKS SSQV BOV, 3" exhaust, 3" ic piping, big ass FMIC, sheet metal intake, stage II heads, 2.1l destroked block, coilovers, LSD, built to fuckin' hell transmission(dogbox), replace dash and all new gauges, finish stripping interior, Nitrous (just for the purge)

For my BMW:
S50 Twin vanos swap (or the good ol' 4g63 swap, w/ a Supra trans)
reinforced rear subframe (damn defects)
bad ass stereo, rims, body kit, fmic, carbon fiber hood and trunk, hood pins, neons, seat covers... yeah this would be a bad ass daily driver, not too over the top on hp, somewhere comfortably between 250-300.

2 chicks at the same time!

I would buy one of those '97 or '98 TT Supras on the site posted in the other thread and spend a bunch of the money painting it jet black with black leather interior, tinted windows, and make everything near mint condition, then use whatever is left (not much) for a few performance upgrades.

I'd go to Amsterdam for a month..

You know, as obnoxious as that spoiler is, and as much as I would go with a less "louder" one, I would leave it on just because it's part of the VR-4 identity, like, "in yo face!" style.

I love that car, except the wing needs to go and I'd probably put on some different wheels. I love how it looks from the front though, it just screams "get the fuck out of my way!!"

Yeah, its a cool car but I have a few problems with it.... for one its making damn near 400 hp and hes only getting it to 12.5?! How bad do you have to suck to have that kinda power on tap and not hit 11's? Second is look at that power curve. I dont know a lot about dynos or tuning but my buddy tells me that the more jagged the line, the shittier the tune. Well look at those lines... other than that, shit is hot. It looks really nice, but I would definately have it resprayed black.

EDIT: Also, arent Denso pumps stock replacements? If so, why is it a mod and why is it close to $300? Oh yeah, anyone else notice the "forged blowoff valve"? :lol:

I'm a little confused by this quote in the ebay ad:

I don't know much about the VR-4's ECU, but I can't see it being much different than ours. So what the hell are they doing pulling the front O2 and running the car in limp mode.

Hey now, I never said the car wasn't nice, although I would prefer a VR-4 Spyder.....I just thought it was weird that they were running the car in limp mode.
