Shortie Headers vs. Long tube headers

Can some please tell me the difference and which one is better. I'm looking at buying headers for my stang but not sure which one to get. Also are mac headers any good or is there a certain brand thats better

The pics are kind of self-explainable, obviously the long tubes will flow much better and sound better.
