my daughter has a 92 sentra 1.6 standard trans.I changed the oil yesterday.I had the front of the car up on steel ramps. After doing the oil change the car idles fine but upon driving the car,it seems to be missing and running rough.I went for a drive and it seems like something is cutting out at a certain rpm. When the engine reaches this rpm,the engine begins to run intermittantly.Always at the same rpm. When i shift to a higher gear it seems to go away. The car lurches and chugs when i hit this certain rpm. When sitting idle and i rev. the engine..the engine revs and cuts out several times until i let off the gas pedal.Again...this happens when i reach a certain rpm only.I should also mention the fact that this problem seems to go a way and later come back when driving the car at different times...almost like a wiring short.Any help would be great.Just wondered if i got the float carb float stuck when i had it up on ramps...or does this car even have a carb (tbi)?thanks in advance

No carb on your engine. Sounds like a possible short in the ECU, or something along the lines of spark(dist., plugs, wires). Probably just a coincidence that it happened after you changed the oil.

unless he somehow knocked a spart plug wire boot off a plug or the distributor. Not likely, but he may have dug around the engine while he was at it and accidentily did that.
