You will use the compound after your final coat has dried, and you have possibly wet-sanded. I use part of an old t-shirt and put a dab of compound on it. Then I start rubbing in a circular motion with the hood and roof first. When the compound hazes, you will add more to a new part of the rag and continue the steps. Be careful on sharp edges as it can burn through your paint and then you will be pissed.

Dont use an old t shirt!!! It will leae terrible swirl marks in your paint! Use proper polishing cloths.

Enzo...I am not knockin' your approach. But, I have had problems with this. Just looking out. I just happen to use those "static" polishing cloths. They work amazing. I got them from www.autogeek.net great stuff. Just my 2 cents:)

I know you weren't knocking" me, I was just wondering if I have been using the wrong cloth for it. Made me wonder, that was all.

I rub in a circular motion but have been told its best to rub in a straight line because the circular motion leaves the swirls. Honestly though, I havent found any problems with my method. I made a thread about a month ago regarding wet sanding. Feel free to take a look at what some of the guys posted there. I accidently rubbed paint of while wet sanding (first time doing)and wanted to go back and repaint the model. At this moment I'm letting the paint cure a few more weeks while I practice how to spray clear over decals without harming them.
