alright ill stick to my first question. Fiberglass Dashes? is it possible i've seen pictures on line of peoples dashes are shinny and shit and im thinking it cant be the vinyl. so is it possible and if it is, is it it cheap? because on my 91 civic si i got dumb and decided to paint my door panels and dash and hell everyone completly got careless and fucked all my interior up. so im thinking if possible my alternative moto is going fiberglass dash(or what ever it is people do instead of just painting there dashes)

I'm getting rid of my 4g soon(yes i know) and getting a newer car which i might go show or either go on or both. but my lady is getting a prelude and we want a custom fiberglass enclosure...i looked very quikly in the interior forum but i didnt quite understand it. could i do it myself without messing something up. anyway
please help.

YES The Shiny Dash Is Fiberglass !! CHEAP HA HA HA. First Off Finding A Place To Do It Is Hard!!! If YOu Can Find A Place!! A WHOLE COMPLETE Dash Is Going To Run At Least 4-5 Thousand Dollars!!!! (The Stock Vinly Looks A Lot Better Now Doesnt It)

opps i read it wrong. but how can it be universal...i would think width on a car over years would switch a little.

it all depends on how serious you want to go. i have seen it done where the vinyl is shaved off down to the material, and a little 'glass is added, or a complete remake where you create the whole damn thing. if you take a look at some car audio and electronics style magazines you'll see a lot of that, and they talk about fiberglass enclosures a lot.

like i said before its gonna run you no less than 4 grand!! and the reason is so high, is because not just anybody can make the dashes, you have to be trained, and have the tools!! what you call a winter project is gonna end up being a 3-4 year project!! and dont Sand down your dash if you mess up your screwed!!! also if you just want to mount your cd player in a different spot, just get a custom fiberglass cover for it!!

um its not gonna be a 4 year project.. seeing as how the dash comes premade. all u gotta do is mount ur shit and paint it.. i never saw a 4 year paintjob.. and 4 grand is a bit rediculous even if u got someone to do it for u

4 grand is a lil expensive, i beat you can get someone to do it for cheaper than that. and 3-4 years, are they working on it 2 months a year? that is way too long to even build one from scratch. not saying someone could take 3-4 years to do it, cause I know there are people who would take that long

i have priced it yes!! also i was be kinda sarcastic when i said 4 years, if somebody who has no experience with fiberglass prep and finish work it will take a very very long time (if they get done at all)!!! thats all i meant!!

Not to be rude, but 1990Civic there are punctuation marks known as periods, please use them.

If the fiberglass place was to make a dash overtop of the OEM dash with the vinyl shaved off, it would only take them about a day to complete if they were not busy and that was all they were working on. I worked in a fiberglass plant that my dad owns and it doesnt take long to do something like that. Maybe a week at most.
To make one from scratch. A mould would somehow have to be made and the fiberglass be sprayed onto that and rolled out. That would take maybe a month at the most. It all depends on how busy the shop is, and the difficulty of the job you want done.

Ok, about the TEG dash, What year would fit a 91? I have almost all the pieces to do a CRX dash swap, but missing the metal bracket that radio and ac controls bolt on to. Does anyone have this or can get it?? Got pics of a TEG dash in a 4th gen??

im not sure on how it fits but if u cut out where the steering wheel goes it might take 2-3 years cause its so difficult.. if a shop was going to do it, i would say they would charge at least 4 grand to cut that opening out.... actually i have no clue about the whole setup.. i would ask the people on that website.
