Is this car worth it?

Hey, i'm about to buy a 1989 supercharged, black mr2 and i need someone's opinion on whether it's worth the price.
The details are:
-original 4agze with 179k miles
-5-speed
-t-top (no leaks)
-everything stock
-just passed emissions
-newish clutch+flywheel
-leather seats (rip on driver's seat)
-messed up front driver's side fender (owner claims it was hit while parked)
-rust on rear wheel wells (the usual spot)
-extra set of winter tires
The guy wants $2,000 but i'm pretty sure he's willing to part with it for $1,500. This sounds fair enough to me, but i'd like to hear the opinion of people who may know a little (or a lot) more about this car than i do.
Also, anything else anyone thinks i should check for in the car? Thoughts? Advice?
Thanks for the help.

sounds fair, just make sure there's no chassis damage in the front where the fender is crunched.

Thanks, ac427cpe, the crunch didn't seem to be serious enough to affect the chassis.
I'm making the final decision tomorrow.
I'm just worried about the mileage. A newer JDM swap is definitely in the car's future if it ends up in my hands, but i'd rather not have to do that until at least next year.
And because my current car is about to crap itself it looks like
this is gonna be a daily driver (and i deliver pizza on days i don't have classes so i'll be packin on miles).
I know toyotas live forever if taken care of correctly, but 180k
is still a lot. What kind of problems can i expect to encounter in the near future?

problems: engine death is always a big one. You might need to do a suspension replacement though, especially if it's got the OEM stuff on it still.
If you are near Az though... and don't mind spending a bit more, I'll be selling my 89 hardtop silvertop 20v car soon...

I live in NY. 20v does sound nice though... how much would you be asking for it?

$3,000, though that would be quite the drive for you, and i'm sure shipping would cost in the $500-$800 range.
