OK i have a 92 tsi.. i have idle surge that i cant get rid of... i replaced the coil, turbo, bov, isc, ecu capacitors, intake manifold gasket, 02 sensor, 0 rings in the tb... and some more stuff.... and it is still surging but when i take the innercooler piping off of the tb and restrict the air flow it corrects its self... the throttle cable is not tight, i ran out of stuff that i can replace. it all happened when it jumped timing.. could it be a bent intake valve?
I also cleaned the manifold and the tb really good.

It could be the bent valve. When it jumped did you hear a hit from the engine? You may also want to check the EGR valve also. Could be dirty/broken.

i don't remember hearing any noises.. but the vacuum gage is at about 15.. i think the needle should be moving if it had a bent valve... I removed the egr a few months before all of this started happening. It is so confusing:banghead:

Have you done a compression test? That should tell you if you bent a valve badly enough to affect any performance.

yes i done a compression test, it was 160 for 4-2 and 130 for 1.

Then that is your problem. 130 is too low

what could be causing that? bent valve or bad rings? head gasket? or could it be any of them..

It could be any of them. A leakdown test will tell you more if you can get ahold of one of those bad boys.
