i have 93 ford ranger 4x4 not working

i have a 1993 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 4x4 that the push button lights do not work i already bought a 200.00 switch and didnt work how can i get my 4x4 to work ?

what happens when you press the buttons?

Probally needs the motor on the transfer case and do not get an used one,you might get a chance the used one is bad too.It is a dealer part only and is $500.00.The motor on the transfer case is known for going out

just take it apart & replace the hard grommet on the gear with a piece of 1/4 inch vac line.tools #20 torx, wire cutters and butt connectors,seal with silacone sealent,lot cheaper then 500.00,maybe 90 min. time
