Time to loose some wheels

So I'm probably gonna be getting a bike soon and sharing the accord with my little sister who needs to commute to school. So anyway, I'm trying to find a used 750cc bike for about $6K but all I can find are newer 600s for $6-7K and older 1000s for $6-8K. Then there are older 600s for $5-6 also.

I want a 750 cause I know I'll be want to move up from a 600 sooner than later but I have no need for a 1000. Plus I never rode a rocket before so learning on a 1000 isn't the best idea.

So do people in general not sell their 750s or do they just not sell as well as 600s and 1000s? Anybody know about buying bikes around here? (BP2K I'm loking at you)

If you know there is a bike forum, you also know that you are asking the #1 most commonly asked question.... you'd also know that there are 3 stickies at the top of the forum that indicate that your idea, though it seems logical now, is more likely to get you dead.

Read those and the advice is duly noted. 600 it shall be at some point. But still I ask wheres the 750s?

If you can get a nice 600 just go for that. The difference between the 600/750 will not be that big of a difference to justify buying an older 750 over a newer 600. I learned on a 250cc, got sick of that after a few months and traded up to a 600 and thats where I stayed for a long time. Didn't feel the urge to grab a 1000 or higher and anything in between makes hardly a difference.

600's are inherently dangerous if you ride them that way. 750's and bigger you don't have to ride them any particular way to make them dangerous. At least thats how one of my friends put it. I learned on a 500, went to a 750, had a gsxr1100 for a while and got rid of it, damn bike was just too fast. Now with kids I don't ride anymore, too much going on in life for some moron who doesn't pay attention while driving an oversized suv to run me over.

Go back to banlandia. I remember reading those when i was interested. I never did see much 750's though when i was looking. The occasional times I did I have to question it. It's the same principle when buying anything, learn the general prices and know when they're iffy.

Thanks to AF I knew enough about bikes to make a good call when things showed up. That bike forum is filled with info.

There is a GSX-750R but that is one helluva fast bike to start on. If you are a responsible rider I would reccomend an older 600 which would still be plenty fast like you have never even experienced before. Maybe check into a CBR 600 F3. Otherwise it would not hurt to start on a 250.

I defenitely see a whole lot more 600s for sale than I do 1000s, and just a handfull of 750s...
