I have a 1989 T-Bird SC with a worn out engine.I have a real good 351w out of a 1985 Ford van.I would like to put the windsor in the T-Bird.Does anyone know what it would take to put the engine in it.I remember someone mentioning something about a flywheel and starter out of a 90's truck.I am going to put a points distributor in it so the ignition will be easier to hook up.Any info would be greatly appreciated.Thanx!

First I would find out how much money your willing to spend on the project then go from there. Is the SC a manual or an auto? Its probably gonna take you some time to do it(can you afford to have the car down for that long?)

I got the car out of a chat room on the internet.Someone said they needed a mechanic and I found out they lived in the next town over so they brought the car to me.I tore it down and found out it had a bad head.I told them and the guy gave his old lady $700.00 for parts. That night he comes home and the gal took the money and cleaned the poor guys apartment out and skated on him.He called me and told me what happened and asked me if I wanted to buy the car from him.I got it for $150.00.It has a nice body except for a small wrinkle on the right front fender and a cracked w/s.The interior is in great shape.I have a 95 Bird with a good fender.Someone told me it won't fit but it sure looks the same.I would just as soon put the 3.8 back together but I want to go through it and do a bunch to it.I would really like to go all out with it so it will be a while before I can come up with the money to do so as I have been off work due to a back injury and fighting with work comp for 3 years now.If I settle good enough with them then I will do the 3.8.I just want to get it going so I can drive it for now.I have other vehicles I can drive so it's not like I have to have it going right now.By the way it is an automatic.I'm thinking agout swapping in a five speed when I put the 3.8 back in it.Thanx for repying!By the way, that looks to be a beautiful Bird in the pic.Would like to see more of it .
