Like the title says, she wants to be back on the road really bad, and progress is finally starting to be made. As some of ya'll know, i've already had this, and I finally cleaned them up today:

DR Stage 3 heads
and look what I finally picked up yesterday morning:

This should hold any power that I could possibly throw at it. Arias Forged Pistons 8.5:1 CR and 3.05 L displacement, Pauter Forged Rods (they are a little bit lighter than the stock rods), 2nd gen crankshaft, all in my old 2-bolt block, because I didn't want the extra oil squirters. It was machined, balanced, and assembled by a professional shop who builds race engines for drag pro cars on a daily basis, as well as some street engines as well. I can't wait to get it all assembled and back into the engine bay.

i noticed you have 91-92 heads with the adjustable CAS on the passenger side of the head. any reason for that? or do you intend to convert it to the later unadjustable CAS on the rear exhaust cam gear?
i've noticed a lot of ppl on 3Si have said how they don't like the extra oil squirters on the 4-bolt blocks...why is this? how could extra lubrication hurt? what parts of the motor (internals, obviously, but which exactly) do the oil squirters lubricate?
are you sticking with the 18Ts, GM MAF/MAF-T, and EBC? any changes to the setup? what injectors were you/will you be running?
give us the whole kitten caboodle! don't hold out like 3SX and be all secretive with your tricks:sunglasse :nono: .

Linebckr why wouldnt you want adjustable timing? Alot of 2g guys convert to that style CAS for its adjustablity. Plus it can go on any 91-99 engine whereas the 93-99 style wont work on a 91-92 head.

I doubt that I will have any times this year. It will probably take me until somepoint during the summer to finish it, and then i'll be spending a few months breaking in the motor and tuning it. Then the track is closed during the colder months.

I have the 91 heads because I bought them used with about 2,000 miles (as well as the pistons and rods) from a 3SI member who was parting out his car. He had a good price for them so I jumped on them quick. I bought a 92 TT ECU for better fuel maps. I am using the N/A harness since the 94 fed spec n/a harness lines up with the pins on the 1st gen TT ECU. The only change i had to make was adding in a 2nd O2 sensor, in which the dealership gave me a couple of ECU pins so I could add into the connector. So I added in the 2nd O2 sensor.
As far as the extra oil squirters go, they don't lubricate anything. They are used to help keep the the stock pistons cool which really aren't needed with forged pistons. They also drop the oil pressure going through the rest of the block which is suggested to be a reason for spun bearing problems.
I won't be secretive. I will be running E16G's on JPDC adapter plates and O2 dumps (for now). I may upgrade to manifolds in the future, but I am satisfied with having the adapter plates. My other mods will pretty much be the same as before. I will be removing the SFS LSD insert and get a real LSD since the inserts have backfired on multiple applications.
I have also done the automatic climate control conversion, LED conversion, ran real speaker wires to all of my speakers as well as replacing the rear 6x9s. I had a huge mess of wires on the inside and had to rewire a lot of crap. I put real gauges in the stock center location, and everything (turbo timer, EBC, e-mainage) is hiding. I want to seem like I have a stock interior. I'm real close to putting the dash back in the car and then I will get started on the engine. I also replaced the cracked defroster vents since the dash is out.
Its amazing I have made this much progess with the little time I have to work on it as busy as I stay. Its also amazing how I stay this busy without a gf ... and i'm sure ya'll know exactly what I'm talking about. If I get dragged into the game, there's no telling when I'll have time to finish this project. Anyways, all in all, my ultimate goal is to have a quick full-interiored automatic.

i absolutely identify with you there. i'm busier during the weekends than i am during the week b/c of these cars. and i'm sure these cars would not allow a gf in our relationship :p.
i was helping (and will be again tomorrow) a friend with his motor swap (92 TT spun bearing) friday and today (saturday). we worked friday evening til 4:30 sat morning, crashed at his place, then got up saturday at 2 and went back to work. took a break to spend some time with my bro who's back in town sat night, Easter sunday morning with the fam, then Sunday afternoon i'll be headed back out to work some more on the car.
earlier friday, i also helped another friend pull his motor/tranny because 1) the timing tensioner pulley broke off its bolt, leaving the other half stuck in the block, and 2) he wants to do a TT conversion.
out of all the work i find myself doing on other ppl's 3S's, i get tired of doing it period and neglect my own car. but i really DO enjoy working on these cars, there just comes a point where i realize all this wrench time seems futile just to maintain a 15 year high performance car. but then i think, duh, its a high performance car, this kind of maintenance is normal, let alone expected for a 15 year old car. also, it makes me NOT want to do the TT conversion, whatsoever. at least there's no way i could see doing it with the engine IN the car, LOL. i think i'll stay NA for now and worry about little things like cosmetics (rims, paint, etc) and little power adders (long headers) and finish my HID retrofit (f*#ckin Dremel broke AGAIN). i can appreciate a daily driven high performance car (though it is NA) that is reliable and starts every day. i'll just get a TT car someday and make it a track car (road course, not that straight line acceleration crap :p ).

duh! i knew that. i'm not thinking clearly. but Hotshot has the emanage: if its the ultimate, i believe he has timing control, whereas the blue version doesn't. why won't the 93-99 style work on a 91-92 head? all you would have to do not use the adjustable sensor, and put the vane sensing blade between the cam shaft and cam gear sprocket. i bet you could do it, but it makes no sense to do so. anyways, we now know he picked them up for a good deal, not for timing adjustability.

Now that might be a while before I even get to that. On top of that, I would have to find the rear end from a 6-speed.
Whats funny is that for the longest time, me and a friend of mine with an RT/TT had been saying that an AWD ATX would just be sick and totally dominant on the track. Well, 3SX decides they want an AWD ATX for their drag car, and next thing you know, they hold the current 1/4 mile record with it.

i figured i'd post up another update. Right now i'm hung because i'm waiting on stuff. This weekend i've got to work on getting the front motor mount to fit at someone's shop, and i'm still waiting for my Quaife LSD to be delivered. I also pick up my O2 housings this weekend, too. I didn't have much to do tonight so I took some pictures instead:

nope, IPS makes TD05 extension pipes to go with their TD05 manifold kit. I ordered them separately. They fit really good except I had to grind down two of the brackets on the manifold that hold the front heatshield in place. The factory heatshields are worthless anyways.

i don't really consider myself a gearhead, I have just found good deals on parts over the past couple of years just decided to put them all on at one time. The car broke down from overheating sept. 16, 2005, the night before my 21st b-day. Thats the last time I've driven the car. Ended up finding a set of JPDC adapter plates for real cheap, sold my 18T's to collect some quick cash to help get started in my house. Considering the situation, i just decided to go ahead with the E16G's, especially since Trevor ran a 10.3 @ 139 mph with them.

of course Trevor has AWD, but look at that trap speed. That alone is pretty sick.
The guy your talking about is Richard . . . cty's brother. He'll be at BRG but he's trying to do an AWD conversion before he gets there. I met him 2 years ago at the BRG, had the cops called on us because he was doing burnouts in the hotel parking lot at 2 a.m. :shakehead and man, Eric B. from 3SX was pissed when we lost our parking spaces by the strip because of that.
