Should I expect to pay full MSRP?

I'm planning on my first BMW purchase, a 2003 325Ci or 330Ci Convertible in January, when the lease expires on my current Lexus GS300. I live in Kentucky. The lease shown to me by the local dealer was based on full MSRP and he said they don't really deal much. A neighbor of mine confirmed that was his experience too.
Any opinions? Should I shop online or with dealers in neighboring cities?

I just ordered a 2003 330ci and was able to get 1500 off of msrp. Supposedly that's pretty rare though.

I have an offer for a 2003 330CIC European Delivery for $1,300 over Euro Invoice. It is out of state but worth it. I have found many dealers in stat and out that won't budge from sticker. You just need to do research and flood other dealers.

:) I bought a 2001 330i in September 2001 (September is the official end of season as they can start selling 2002 in october, per my car dealer clients). List was $41,700, got it for $37,700.

I have a 2003 330 Cic on order. I got about $1,500 too. I knew exactly how I wanted the car configured and sent out letters to about 8 dealers in the Washington D.C. area. Of the 8, only 3 would consider going under invoice. You can get a fair deal but you have to take your time and look around.

You meant 3 would consider going under sticker, right? Invoice is dealer cost. I ordered from BMW of Sterling(VA), who did you end up with?

Always bargain with the salesman. What do you have to lose?

Just picked up my 2003 CIC Convertible, Sport Package, Premium, Heated seats and Bi xenon lights. Went to 3 dealers in the Atlanta Metro area and the best deal I could get was $1200 under MSRP ad they tossed in the $150 floor mats. Don't tell the dealer but after driving it for a few days I would have been glad to pay MSRP.

What model did you get and what options have you chosen? What does "premium" mean, BMW use different terms over here in the UK...

Electric red/blk top
Natural Brown leather
Sport Pkg
Premium Pkg
Cold Weather Pkg
Xenons
Parkdistance
Dest.
$46,945
We were able to get $2K off sticker ($44,945) plus I had the dealer throw in the floor mats ($125) and the Wind Screen ($470). All in all, we got $2,595 off of car. We were very pleased with the deal.
We just kept calling dealers until we came close to the deal we wanted. Then I called the first dealer and told him what I wanted. He met it and we put down our deposit. Should see it late February or March.

you did pretty well, BMW cars are in so much demand concessions are pretty rare and small when they do take place $2k is a good saving.

I paid $1500 over invoice for 2002 325i in Dec. 2001. That was $1670 less than MSRP. It included BMW floor mat with no extra charge.

It also depends on the time of the month, no, none of that girly stuff. try to buy your car towards the end of the month or year when the dealer is trying to reach his target and more likely to make discounts...
oh, and dont go to the dealer wearing a Rolex watch and looking like you have a million dollars in your back pocket either!
