question about fuel injectors!

I have a 98 integra LS. Nothing wrong with it, but i am sort of experimenting with the fuel system. At some point in the "experiment" i will have to reroute the fuel line. My question is this: If i were to simply unplug the injectors from the electrical harness and otherwise change nothing, what would be the effects? Do the injectors stay closed when they are unpowered? or would fuel just pour through them as soon as the fuel pressure came up?
Besides the lack of normal fuel delivery, is there a danger to other components while running the engine with the injectors unplugged(similar to how you can burn up a coil pack if you run with a spark plug wire unplugged)?
Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

With the injectors unplugged they won't work. So your car won't start, let alone run dangerously. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the fuel will just go through the return line back to your gas tank.

thanks for the info! If everything works, the fuel will be getting there by a different route, so the injectors wont be necessary.

the injectors wont be necessary.
that sounds like a bad idea, but i'm curious....and when you do whatever it is that you're doing, you should take pictures....

I'm also very interested to see what you're planning.
