1968 Ford Torino: Over heating too fast?

I have a 1968 ford torino
The engine works fine, of course its an old engine too
I've been having a few problems with it over heating
The car warms up to 210 on the temp gauge.
and as what everyone told me thats fine.
but after driving it for a while longer, You can hear the engine sound funny and wants and will die out when your just driving down the road.
It never happens like this when im driving when its not up to 210.
the car starts up great.
My dad putted in two brand new thermastats (not sure if thats how its spelt) so thats not the problem.
Theres been a few times I have lost prestone (another mispelled word) from the raditator. but that happens only when the engine gets Too hot. and my dad putted on a brand new raditior cap. so thats not the problem either.
I talked to my cousin's father, and he suggested something about a hose being closed up?
I dont know much about how to keep the car cooled down.
Lately when ever it gets hot, I stop and shut it off and leave it tell it goes back down to zero.
But I am Pretty sure even for a old engine, It shouldnt be doing this.
And the oil is fine. I check that every day to keep sure im not losing any.

Any suggestions what's causing this?

How about the engine size?
Is it stock, type of fan, excetra?
Does it overheat when your moving or while sitting in traffic?

Your cooling system consists of a few simple parts, all of which must work together to cool the engine. They are the water pump, thermostat, radiator, drive belt and hoses. Given nearly a 40 year old car, I would suggest a radiator rod out and new water pump on general principle, especially if you don't have a good history of the car. A loose drive belt on the water pump will impair cooling effectiveness, too. Change your radiator hoses, heater hoses, and any rubber by-pass hoses that may be present if you are not sure of the age. Do it all at once and your problems should go away.

I think my dad replaced all the belts.
my engine is a V8 4.7 Liter Carbureted
289 CID VIN C
The radiator looks used out. but I really dont want to go put money out yet.
recently spent $400 on my car this week =\ lol.
But that helps alot. Im thinking to have my dad replace all the hose. and in the summer time i'll save up for a new radiator
Im not sure if its all in stock, but the fan blade is a 5 blade, and im going to get a bigger blade later on.
The car mostly overheats in both ways,
while its sitting on idiel
and when im like backing up, pressing on the gas right after I stopped. etc.
But I am pretty sure its the hose, thier all rubber and the engine is about 32 years old.
