Cluster swap from regal? Odometer not showing..

Hello all!
I just picked up a 2000 buick century with 97k miles for my wife. Car drives great, but, the odometer and shift indicator display has worked intermittantly, and now not at all.

It seems the only fix is IP cluster replacement. So with that, I have two questions:

1) What happens to the current mileage? Will the new cluster display my cars true mileage, or will it have to be programmed in by a dealer?

2) What models will swap in correctly for my car? Ie: can I get a cluster from a regal that also includes a tach? What years/models can I pull this from.

Any information is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to AF.

If you get a replacement IP cluster your actual mileage will need to be programmed in. Most GM dealers don't have that capability and send the IP off to other companies that specialize in this type work.

I am not sure if an IP Cluster from a '97-'04 Regal will work due to wiring harness connections and wiring to the PCM module for the tach signal. It should fit physically. Also, alot of Regals such as the GS models have the digital trip computer built into the IP so you would not one from that specific model. Some LS models have it too.

What model years are a known fit for a 2000 century?

On ebay, there seems to be differint fitment information. ie: clusters for 99-00 only, or from 01-03 only, etc. Would an '01 fit an '00?
