Well my freinds dad owns a 1969 Stingray with a 350 I don't know if it's the L75 or the L46. My problem is I just can't find any quarter mile times for it. His dad dropped the original tranny and put a select shift in it 4 Speed. Now I just read that the 390 Horse 427 with a 4 Speed Manual can only pull a 15.06. My fathers 1972 Mach 1 can pull a 14.9 stock (It has a C-6 3 Speed Automatic). When we restore the car I plan to add some things to it so I can get it in high 13 to low 14 second territory. But if I can smoke my freind's vette i'll be really happy. Yes I know I sound like a jerk and yes I know this is bench racing but I want to know before I attempt and get my freind laughing at me and telling people my car has no balls.

Well I know I want a New Carb,Cam,Exhaust,Headers,Intake Manifold,Tires,Maybe a set of Boss 351 Heads if I can find them. Have them ported and polished new lifters and springs. It's bored .030 over and has a forged crank it came with forged aluminum pistons. I'd like to run the quarter in the mid to low 13's. So I can spank on the Ls1 at school.

It has a set of 4.11's and posi.

Make sure if you go that route, to go with a matched "set" from an experienced engine shop. I know a ton of people who do the mods you described in seperate peices and end up with an over cammed, over carbed, nightmare with no possibility of tuning to full potential. It sounds like the bottom end in your car is solid, if you do heads, intake, exhaust, carb, ignition, and fuel pump (if needed), You should be into your goal time.
I will also offer a view on getting into a rivalry with a Chevy owner, chevy engines are cheaper to build and get more power out of if the owner know what he's doing. Just make sure this is all for fun and noone gets hurt, and keep the drags at a local strip not on the street.

I've asked alot of people questions about the engine. But thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
