00/01 Jetta 1.8

Hey, i'm thinking about getting a 00+ jetta. I was just wondering if anybody could talk me out of it? You know all the little things that your not happy with...

get it make sure u have dark interior because the light just seems to attract every piece of dirt and fuzz

I've had an 01 jetta wolfsburg for 4 years now and have never experienced any of the problems I've read on these forums..maybe I'm just lucky or maybe I just cursed myself...knock on wood..I'd buy it..agree with the dark interior suggestion though, I've had to steam clean my interior twice since I bought the car.

i think 99-01 1.8t suck cuz of the smaller turbo/ boost pressure. But they dont have the cam asjusters which are only there for emissions and to leak oil.

that can fixed easily with a k04 or just direct port programming from APR. I've got over 15psi max boost, 242hp and 272ft/lbs...torque steer is a wee bit heavy but I can deal with it. Both cars look good but if you're looking to tune it you can't beat the potential of the 1.8t engine.
