Finding the right kits

Hi guys

Got to say great forum. I'm currently on my first build (Revell Shelby Cobra 427) and this forum has been a great source of info, so thanks to all the FAQ's which have been written. I'm nearly there with it now, just got to assemble my wheels, fix them to the chasis, fix the body shell to it and then do the decals. For my first attempt I'm really pleased so far and I definately need to send out some shouts to those of you that have written 'How To' threads. Also the completed gallery has also inspired me, the workmanship of some of these models is fantastic so thanks for all the motivation guys!! Once my Cobra is done I'll be sure to post some pics up!!

As I'm nearing the end of one project I'm looking around at what else is about and I have to say the models are a bit thin on the ground in the UK. I live in London and yet finding a model shop is a nightmare. There's Hamleys which is a massive department store in central London but their selection sucked. My Cobra came from HobbyCraft who have a small selection of Revell and Tamiya but don't rotate what they stock so it's the same bunch of cars unfortunately. I did find a good model shop online called www.emodels.co.uk who have a fair selection, but looking around the completed galaries and seeing vehicles like the Camaro that Primera Man is working on makes me want to find those cooler models, and I can't seem to get them anywhere in the UK. If there's anyone on this side of the pond who knows of some good resources for buying these more unusual American muscle and Japanese import style models, even cars like Audi TT's and Carrera's, pray tell!!

There's a UK based guy on eBay who sells a lot of US models, mostly muscle cars. Let me see if I can find him..

eBay is often worth keeping an eye on. There's also http://www.modelsforsale.com. Their website's a bugger to navigate, since you can't browse by scale, but you can search on 1/24 to get a reasonable idea of what they have. Some nice stuff.

Thanks guys. I've just finished my Cobra (photos to go up over the weekend) so I'm now going to look for my second project from one of these suppliers!
