headrest replacement on 93 TC

Funny how it works…. Just started really researching the possibility of replacing headrests on my 93 with something else yesterday. It actually started with idea of installing DVD monitors in the headrests instead of the drop down type of monitor in the middle of the roof. Today on CNN they were just talking about the fact that some of the newer cars do not provide adequate protection. Don’t know how you feel about yours, mine is practically nonexistent. My idea was either by those aftermarket headrest/monitor combination or going to the upholstery shop ordering a brand new replacement and then or at the same time wiring the monitors in them. The problem with the first option is the fact that new headrests have two prongs sticking in the seat but my seat has that pole type of support. How would you replace one with the other and what would you do about internal seat hardware? Or my only option is to rebuild new headrest on top of the old (and let’s face it ugly) post. I just looked yesterday at one of post 98 TCs and it looks like they have two prong type or setup. I also was thinking if rebuilding the headrest becomes cost prohibitive, may be I can snatch something decent @ the junk yard and “fudge” that in….
Any ideas suggestions greatly appreciated!

You didn't mention that you don't currently have a headrest. Maybe I'm reading you wrong.

What is it? You don't like the 1993 shape?

What color are your seats? I just picked up a 91 TC for parts on Thursday. It has the red seats, I think the head rests are still good. Should be the same as the 93. e mail me if interested cmasalvage@alltel.net
